A program which provides equipment for young riders to live their dream of getting on the track and into the sport of road racing. For the selected rider(s), gear will be provided ON LOAN – head to toe as well as a motorcycle to train on and eventually race. The gear and equipment is to remain the property of M1GP for future families to benefit from.
WHO IT'S FOR:
This program is for young riders ages 6-14 who have a desire to get into the sport of motorcycle road racing, but whose parents may not have the financial means necessary for the equipment.
This program is not a permanent loan program throughout the season for parents with the financial means to purchase equipment and gear, but a way for their young rider to "try before you buy" the necessary safety equipment..
The ideal candidate will be:
a boy or girl who is physically able to work the standard controls of a motorcycle.
at least have a moderate physical fitness level.
This program will be offered to the candidate(s) on a event by event basis.
This program is open for people of all ethnic backgrounds and religions on a first come and need basis, however M1GP reserves the right to decide eligibility.
WHERE IT HAPPENS: M1GP has events at two premier racing circuits for mini road racing – Willow Springs International Raceway – Kart Track (Rosamond, CA.) and Grange Motor Circuit (Apple Valley, CA).
WHEN: THE GREEN FLAG program will be held on practice days (usually Saturdays) with those involved with the program. Other practice days may become available throughout the season.
HOW:
2 STEP PROCESS:
Contact us. Tell us the name, age and some details about your young racer along with a recent photograph to info@m1-grandprix.com
No phone calls, please. Emails only. M1GP will respond to all emails sent in as requested.
OR
Come to a practice day, bring your young rider and meet the M1GP staff to discuss the program.
Chosen participants will be invited to come out and meet our GREEN FLAG crew where everyone can get to meet each other.
All participants must be able to arrange for transportation and have a parent or legal guardian accompany the young rider at each event. Medical forms and insurance waivers must be signed at each event for liability and for the minors.
M1GP's GREEN FLAG program is an opportunity for companies to help youngsters experience this great sport at the very base of grass-roots level racing. At this level of mini road racing, it's very much like Little League baseball...where equipment companies can help support the kids as well as expose their brand. A "win/win".
Thank you. We're excited to start reviewing the candidates and selecting new riders to get out to the track!
