VARA's official 40th Anniversary Event: From an idea in the minds of founder Jerry Rosenstock and a few racer friends in 1973, VARA started with a small group of enthusiasts who mostly drove their race cars to Willow Springs Raceway, set-up a grid and raced. This informal 'happening' soon galvanized into the Vintage Auto Racing Association. The new organization's first official event was held in the spring of 1973 with a few run groups and tons of fun. That event now brandishes the name: "High Desert Challenge."
Come celebrate our history on April 6th and 7th, 2013, and experience great racing, good friends, hot cars while talking about today's adventures and yesterday's memories. In addition to our usual car classes and run groups, we'll have a few feature races.
