It was a crisp sunny morning for the day after Thanksgiving drag racing event held on the front straight 1000 foot stretch of Big Willow. While it was a gamble to hold an event when most of our usual participants would be out of town or busy fending off hordes of Black Friday deal grabbers armed with pepper spray at the local department stores, the turn out was incredible and made it more than worth it. It was a smooth event, the only incident was a vintage sprint car driver ; who defected over from his races at the Walt James Stadium clay oval race ; actually dopped both right side tires off of the pavement even though he was racing a solo exhibition run starting in the left lane.
